Slavomír Kňazovický

Slavomír Kňazovický, born on May third, nineteen sixty-nine, is a distinguished Czechoslovak-Slovak sprint canoer whose athletic career spanned from the early nineteen nineties to the early two thousands. He made a significant mark in the world of competitive canoeing, particularly in the C-1 category.

Competing in three Summer Olympics, Kňazovický achieved remarkable success, securing a silver medal in the C-1 500 m event at the Atlanta Games in nineteen ninety-six. His prowess as an out-and-out sprinter was evident, especially in the 200 m distance, which, although not included in the Olympic schedule, became his preferred race.

In nineteen ninety-seven, he showcased his talent by becoming the European C-1 200 m champion in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The following year, he continued to excel, winning a silver medal in Szeged, Hungary. His accolades further expanded in nineteen ninety-nine when he earned bronze medals at both the World and European Championships, solidifying his status as a top competitor.

Kňazovický's achievements also include a bronze medal in the C-4 500 m event at the nineteen ninety-four World Championships held in Mexico City. Today, he shares his expertise as a coach, guiding the current Slovakian number one, Marián Ostrčil, and contributing to the future of Slovak canoeing.
