Sofia Sakorafa

Sofia Sakorafa, born on April twenty-ninth, nineteen fifty-seven, is a distinguished Greek-Palestinian politician and former javelin thrower. Her athletic career laid the foundation for her later political endeavors, showcasing her dedication and resilience.

As a prominent figure in Greek politics, she served as a Member of the European Parliament representing Greece for the political party MeRA25. Prior to this role, she was affiliated with Syriza, where she made significant contributions as a Member of the Hellenic Parliament from June two thousand twelve to July two thousand fourteen.

In addition to her parliamentary duties, Sakorafa held the position of deputy speaker in the Hellenic Parliament for the MeRA25 party, further solidifying her influence in the political landscape. Her leadership extends beyond politics, as she is also the president of the Association hellénique d'athlétisme amateur (SEGAS), promoting athletics in Greece.
