Somdev Devvarman, born on February thirteenth, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished former professional tennis player from India. He made a significant mark in collegiate tennis, achieving the remarkable feat of reaching three consecutive finals at the NCAA Championships. His exceptional performance culminated in back-to-back victories during his junior and senior years at the University of Virginia, a record matched by only three other players since nineteen fifty.

In two thousand eight, Devvarman showcased his prowess with an impressive forty-four to one win-loss record at the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship, the best since nineteen seventy-one. His journey on the ATP World Tour saw him reach the final of the Chennai Open in two thousand nine as a wild card entry, highlighting his potential on the professional circuit.

Devvarman's accolades extend beyond collegiate success. In two thousand ten, he clinched the gold medal in the men's singles event at the XIX Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi.
