Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiary

Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiary, born on June twenty-second, nineteen thirty-two, was a prominent figure in Iranian history, known for her role as the second wife of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Her tenure as Queen of Iran spanned from nineteen fifty-one to nineteen fifty-eight, a period marked by both glamour and personal challenges.

Despite her royal status, Soraya's marriage faced significant strains, particularly due to her infertility, which became a source of pressure in their relationship. The couple's struggles culminated in their divorce, which was publicly announced in March nineteen fifty-eight.

Following her royal life, Soraya briefly pursued a career in acting and became involved with Italian film director Franco Indovina. After this chapter, she chose to live in Paris with her brother, where she spent her remaining years until her passing.
