Soyeon

Jeon So-yeon, known mononymously as Soyeon, is a multifaceted South Korean artist born on August 26, 1998. She has made her mark as a singer, actor, songwriter, and rapper, showcasing her diverse talents in the entertainment industry. Soyeon first captured public attention through her participation in the popular television shows Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar, which paved the way for her solo debut on November 5, 2017.

In 2018, Soyeon took on the role of leader and rapper for the K-pop girl group (G)I-dle, later rebranded as I-dle. As a key creative force behind the group, she has written and produced many of their lead singles, solidifying her reputation as a skilled songwriter and producer. Her contributions to the music scene extend beyond her group, as she also participated in the SM Station X project, collaborating with other artists to release the song 'Wow Thing' in September of the same year.

Additionally, Soyeon has lent her voice to the character Akali in the virtual musical groups K/DA and True Damage, further showcasing her versatility as an artist. Her influence in the music industry was recognized when she was promoted to a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association on January 31, 2024, marking a significant milestone in her career.
