Ståle Solbakken, born on February twenty-seventh, nineteen sixty-eight, is a distinguished Norwegian football manager and former player. Currently, he serves as the head coach of the Norway national team, making history as the first manager to lead Norway to the World Cup since Egil Olsen in nineteen ninety-eight.
During his playing career, Solbakken was recognized as the Norwegian midfielder of the year in nineteen ninety-five. He achieved significant success in the Danish Superliga, winning championships with both Aalborg in nineteen ninety-nine and Copenhagen in two thousand one. Representing Norway, he played fifty-eight matches and scored nine goals, participating in the nineteen ninety-eight World Cup and the two thousand European Championship.
