Stan Bowman

Stan Bowman, born on June twenty-eighth, nineteen seventy-three, is a prominent Canadian-American ice hockey executive currently serving as the general manager of the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He has a rich legacy in the sport, being the son of the legendary Scotty Bowman, a Hockey Hall of Fame member and former senior advisor for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Bowman's career in the NHL took off when he became the general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks in two thousand nine. Under his leadership, the team achieved remarkable success, clinching three Stanley Cups in two thousand ten, two thousand thirteen, and two thousand fifteen. However, his tenure was marred by controversy, leading to his resignation in two thousand twenty-one after an internal investigation revealed his failure to address reports of sexual assault involving a member of the coaching staff.

Following his departure from the Blackhawks, Bowman also stepped down from his role with the U.S. Olympic men's hockey team and took a hiatus from the sport until his hiring by the Oilers in two thousand twenty-four.
