Stavros Dimas

Stavros Dimas, born on April thirtieth, nineteen forty-one, is a distinguished Greek politician, diplomat, lawyer, and economist. His career is marked by significant contributions to both national and European politics, particularly during his tenure as the European Commissioner for the Environment from two thousand four to two thousand nine.

In addition to his role in the European Commission, Dimas served as Greece's Minister for Foreign Affairs from November two thousand eleven to May two thousand twelve. His diplomatic skills and political acumen were further recognized when he was nominated by the New Democracy–PASOK coalition government for the presidency of Greece in December two thousand fourteen.
