Steeve Guénot

Steeve Guénot, born on October second, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished French amateur wrestler and educator. He made history at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing by winning the gold medal in the Men's Greco-Roman 66 kg category, becoming the first Olympic Champion for France in this discipline since Emile Poilvé's victory in the nineteen thirty-six Berlin Games.

Raised in a family deeply rooted in wrestling, Steeve's passion for the sport was nurtured by his father, a referee, and his mother, a club manager. His siblings, including his brother Christophe, who also achieved success in wrestling, further solidified the family's legacy in the sport.

In two thousand twelve, Steeve aimed to defend his Olympic title. He faced reigning world champion Saeid Abdevali of Iran in the quarter-finals, where he was controversially declared the winner. However, he ultimately fell short in the semifinals against the eventual champion, securing a bronze medal instead.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Steeve has been a member of the US Métro (Union sportive métropolitaine des transports) since two thousand seven, balancing his career as a wrestler with his role as an educator.
