His career spanned from 2003 to 2018, during which he showcased his exceptional talent across various teams, including Van Hemert Groep CT, Rabobank Continental Team, Bouygues Télécom, IAM Cycling, and LottoNL–Jumbo.

Specializing in the time trial discipline, Clement achieved remarkable success, securing the Dutch National Time Trial Championships title four times. His prowess in this challenging event was further highlighted when he earned a bronze medal at the 2007 World Championships time trial, solidifying his reputation as one of the top competitors in the sport.

In December 2014, Clement was announced as a member of the IAM Cycling team for the 2015 season, joining forces with fellow Belkin Pro Cycling rider David Tanner.
