Štefan Čambal

Štefan Čambal, born on December sixteenth, nineteen oh eight, in Pozsony, was a distinguished Slovak football player and later a prominent football manager. His career began with 1. ČsŠK Bratislava, where he achieved the amateur title in Czechoslovakia in nineteen twenty-seven, marking the start of a remarkable journey in the world of football.

As a player, Čambal represented Czechoslovakia, earning a total of twenty-two caps. He made history as the first player of Slovak origin to participate in a FIFA World Cup during the nineteen thirty-four tournament, where Czechoslovakia secured the silver medal. His club career included stints with notable teams such as Teplitzer FK, SK Slavia Prague, SK Židenice, and Baťa Zlín.

After his playing days, Čambal transitioned into coaching, becoming a well-respected football manager. He notably took the helm of the Czechoslovakia national football team, contributing to the development of the sport in his country.
