Stefan Kuhn

Stefan Kuhn, born on October first, nineteen seventy-nine, in the picturesque town of Banff, Canada, is a remarkable individual who has seamlessly blended his passions for cross-country skiing and culinary arts. His journey in the world of skiing began in earnest when he competed in various international events from nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand, showcasing his talent and dedication to the sport.

After retiring from competitive skiing in two thousand one, Kuhn transitioned into the culinary world, becoming a full-time chef. His culinary skills flourished while working at a fine restaurant in Edmonton, where he honed his craft and developed a reputation for excellence. However, the call of the ski trails proved too strong to resist, and in two thousand five, he made the bold decision to relaunch his cross-country skiing career.

Kuhn's return to skiing was marked by his participation in his first World Cup race in December two thousand five. Over the years, he achieved notable success, including a fifteenth-place finish in a sprint event at Kuusamo in two thousand eight. His impressive performances continued as he competed in the two thousand six to seven Tour de Ski, the two thousand seven World Ski Championships, and the two thousand ten Winter Olympics, where he secured Canada's best-ever male result in the individual sprint event.

Currently residing in Canmore, Kuhn has embraced a dual role as both a coach with the AWCA ski team and a guest chef at the Paint Box Lodge. His unique blend of skills and experiences continues to inspire those around him, as he shares his passion for skiing and cooking with the next generation.
