Modena's prowess continued to shine as he clinched back-to-back senior European Championships in nineteen eighty-three and nineteen eighty-four. His success in karting paved the way for his transition to Italian Formula Three in nineteen eighty-five, where he achieved several race victories and notably secured pole position at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix the following year.
