Stella Kyriakides

Stella Kyriakides, born on March tenth, nineteen fifty-six, is a distinguished Cypriot politician and clinical psychologist. She is a prominent member of the conservative Democratic Rally party, where she has made significant contributions to both her country and the European Union.

From two thousand nineteen to two thousand twenty-four, Kyriakides served as the European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety. In this role, she was instrumental in shaping health policies and ensuring food safety standards across Europe, particularly during challenging times.

Notably, she made history as the first Cypriot national and the third woman to hold the esteemed position of President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Her leadership and dedication to public service have left a lasting impact on both national and international levels.
