Stéphane Javelle

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Stéphane Javelle

Stéphane Javelle, born on November sixteenth, eighteen sixty-four, was a notable French astronomer whose contributions to the field are still recognized today. His journey into astronomy began in eighteen eighty-eight when he joined the Nice Observatory, where he worked alongside the esteemed Henri Perrotin.

Before his foray into the cosmos, Javelle had a career as an accountant. His transition to astronomy was facilitated by a recommendation from Louis Thollon, a friend of his employer, which opened the door to a new and exciting chapter in his life.

During his tenure at the Nice Observatory, Javelle made significant contributions by observing one thousand four hundred thirty-one celestial objects, which were later published in the Index Catalogue. His meticulous work and dedication to the field did not go unnoticed, as he was awarded the prestigious Valz Prize in nineteen ten by the French Academy of Sciences.
