Stephanie Beckert

Stephanie Beckert, born on May 30, 1988, is a distinguished long-distance speed skater hailing from Germany. Her journey in the world of speed skating began at the tender age of ten, after initially training in figure skating. This pivotal switch set her on a path to remarkable achievements in the sport.

Beckert's competitive spirit shone brightly during the 2008–09 season, where she secured a commendable fourth place in the women's 3000/5000 m World Cup. However, it was at the 2010 Winter Olympics where she truly made her mark, clinching one gold medal and two silver medals, showcasing her exceptional talent on an international stage.

Coming from a family deeply rooted in speed skating, Stephanie was inspired by her mother, Angela, and her five younger siblings, all of whom participated in the sport. Notably, her brother Patrick also competed at the 2010 Olympics, further highlighting the family's athletic legacy. Her father, Detlef, adds to this legacy as a retired handball player.

In addition to her athletic pursuits, Stephanie has been serving in the German Army since October 2006, where she holds the rank of sergeant. This commitment reflects her discipline and dedication, both on and off the ice.
