Stephen Greenblatt

Stephen Greenblatt, born on November seventh, nineteen forty-three, is a prominent American literary historian and author renowned for his contributions to the fields of Renaissance studies and Shakespearean scholarship. Since two thousand, he has held the esteemed position of John Cogan University Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University, where he has influenced countless students and scholars.

As a leading figure in the development of new historicism, Greenblatt has introduced innovative critical practices that he often describes as 'cultural poetics.' His influential works, which began to emerge in the early nineteen eighties, have shaped the study of culture and literature, particularly in relation to Shakespeare.
