Stephen McManus, born on September tenth, nineteen eighty-two, is a distinguished Scottish professional football coach and former player. Currently serving as a first-team coach at Celtic, McManus has made significant contributions to the sport both on and off the pitch.
A product of Celtic's youth academy, McManus rose through the ranks to become the first team captain at the start of the two thousand seven to two thousand eight season. His leadership on the field was evident until his transfer to Middlesbrough in two thousand ten, after which he had two loan spells with Bristol City before concluding his playing career with four seasons at Motherwell.
In addition to his club achievements, McManus also had the honor of captaining the Scotland national team, earning twenty-six international caps between two thousand six and two thousand ten. He retired from professional playing in two thousand seventeen, transitioning seamlessly into a coaching role.
