Steve Anthony, born on April second, nineteen fifty-nine, is a distinguished former Canadian broadcaster who captivated audiences across the nation as a MuchMusic host, commonly referred to as a 'VJ' from May nineteen eighty-seven until November nineteen ninety-five.
Before his rise to fame at MuchMusic, Anthony transitioned from Montreal's CKGM to Toronto's Q107 in nineteen eighty-six, where he took on the drive shift. His journey in broadcasting continued as he became a weekday afternoon host at Toronto's 99.9 Mix FM, a role he held until the station's conversion to the Virgin Radio format in August two thousand eight.
In two thousand nine, Anthony expanded his horizons by hosting a weekend show on Sirius Satellite Radio's Iceberg eighty-five and co-hosting Too Much '80s alongside Erica Ehm through Astral Media's Orbyt radio syndication service. His career took another turn in March two thousand nine when he joined CP24 as a news reporter, famously known for his work on the CP24 news chopper, Chopper twenty-four. He co-hosted CP24 Breakfast from September two thousand nine until March two thousand eighteen.
Beyond his on-screen presence, Anthony has lent his voice as the Radio Imaging voice for numerous radio and television stations across North America, including SiriusXM NHL Network Radio and Faith-FM. His contributions to the industry have not gone unnoticed, as he has received the Top Choice Award for three consecutive years.
On March twenty-ninth, two thousand eighteen, Anthony announced his departure from CP24 to explore new ventures outside of broadcasting. By August fifteenth of the same year, he revealed his new role as Head of Media Relations and a member of the advisory board at Direct Global / Direct Co-ops.
