Steve Hackett, born on February twelfth, nineteen fifty, is a distinguished English guitarist renowned for his role as the lead guitarist of the iconic progressive rock band Genesis from nineteen seventy-one to nineteen seventy-seven. During his tenure with Genesis, Hackett made significant contributions to six studio albums, three live albums, seven singles, and one EP, solidifying his place in the annals of rock history. His remarkable talent was recognized when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in two thousand ten.
While still a member of Genesis, Hackett released his debut solo album, Voyage of the Acolyte, in nineteen seventy-five. Following this, he embarked on a prolific solo career, releasing a series of albums starting in nineteen seventy-eight. In nineteen eighty-six, he co-founded the supergroup GTR alongside Steve Howe, which produced a self-titled album that reached an impressive peak of eleven on the Billboard 200 in the United States, featuring the hit single 'When the Heart Rules the Mind'. However, after leaving GTR in nineteen eighty-seven, the group disbanded, prompting Hackett to refocus on his solo endeavors.
