Steve McClaren

Steve McClaren, born on May third, nineteen sixty-one, is a distinguished English football coach and former player, renowned for his extensive career in football management. He began his coaching journey at Oxford United before making a significant move to Derby County in nineteen ninety-five, where he laid the groundwork for his future successes.

In nineteen ninety-nine, McClaren joined Manchester United as assistant manager under Sir Alex Ferguson, stepping in for Brian Kidd. His tenure at United lasted two years, after which he took the helm at Middlesbrough. Under his leadership, the club achieved a historic milestone by winning their first major trophy, the League Cup, in two thousand four, and they reached the UEFA Cup final in two thousand six.

McClaren's career took a pivotal turn when he was appointed manager of the England national team in August two thousand six. However, his time in charge was marred by disappointment, as England failed to qualify for UEFA Euro two thousand eight, leading to his dismissal a year later amidst intense media scrutiny.

In two thousand eight, he ventured into Dutch football with Twente, where he celebrated a remarkable achievement by securing the club's first Eredivisie championship in two thousand ten. His subsequent roles included a brief stint at VfL Wolfsburg in Germany and a return to Nottingham Forest, followed by a second term at Twente, which ended in early two thousand thirteen.
