Steve McIntyre

Steve McIntyre, born in nineteen forty-seven, is a prominent Canadian mathematician and blogger known for his critical analysis of climate data. With a background as a mining exploration company director and a former minerals prospector, he has transitioned into a semi-retired mining consultant, where his expertise in statistical analysis has come to the forefront.

As the founder and editor of the influential blog Climate Audit, McIntyre has dedicated his efforts to scrutinizing and discussing climate data. His work has sparked significant debate, particularly regarding the temperature record of the past one thousand years and the data quality from NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

In collaboration with economist Ross McKitrick, McIntyre has made notable statistical critiques of the hockey stick graph, which posits that the increase in global temperatures during the late twentieth century is unprecedented over the last millennium.
