Over the course of his career, he played in five hundred seventy-one games in the National Hockey League (NHL), showcasing his skills with teams such as the Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, and Chicago Blackhawks.

Montador's journey in professional hockey began when he signed with the Flames as an undrafted free agent in two thousand. He started his career with the Saint John Flames, the Flames' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, where he contributed to their success as a member of the Calder Cup championship team in two thousand one.
