Steve Smith, born on April 30, 1963, is a distinguished Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman and coach. His illustrious career in the National Hockey League (NHL) spanned sixteen seasons, from 1984 to 2001, during which he showcased his skills with teams such as the Edmonton Oilers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Calgary Flames.
Smith's tenure with the Oilers was particularly notable, as he contributed to the team's remarkable success, winning the Stanley Cup three times in the years nineteen eighty-seven, nineteen eighty-eight, and nineteen ninety. His talent was further recognized when he participated in the 1991 All-Star Game and represented Canada in the 1991 Canada Cup, helping his nation secure victory in Toronto.
