Steven Erikson

Steve Rune Lundin, known by his pen name Steven Erikson, was born on October 7, 1959. A Canadian novelist with a rich background in anthropology and archaeology, Erikson has carved a niche for himself in the literary world, particularly in the realm of epic fantasy.

He is most renowned for his monumental ten-volume series, the Malazan Book of the Fallen, which commenced with Gardens of the Moon in nineteen ninety-nine and concluded with The Crippled God in twenty eleven. By twenty twelve, over one million copies of this series had been sold globally, a figure that soared to over three million by twenty eighteen. Critics have hailed the series as a landmark in epic fantasy, with SF Site describing it as the most significant work since Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant.

In addition to the Malazan series, Erikson has embarked on a prequel trilogy titled The Kharkanas Trilogy, alongside seven novellas and a short story. He is currently developing a four-part sequel series, The Tales of Witness, with the first installment, The God is Not Willing, released in twenty twenty-one, and the second, No Life Forsaken, set to debut in October twenty twenty-five.

Erikson's exploration of science fiction has led to the creation of the Willful Child Trilogy, a comedic take on Star Trek and other genre conventions, as well as a First Contact novel, Rejoice, a Knife To the Heart, published in twenty eighteen.
