Steven Kruijswijk

Steven Kruijswijk, born on June 7, 1987, is a prominent Dutch road bicycle racer currently riding for the UCI WorldTeam Visma–Lease a Bike. Renowned for his exceptional climbing skills, Kruijswijk has made a significant mark in the world of professional cycling.

Throughout his career, he has celebrated notable achievements, including a stage victory at the 2011 Tour de Suisse and clinching the general classification at the 2014 Arctic Race of Norway. His prowess in the mountains has been a defining feature of his racing style.

Kruijswijk has consistently performed well in the Grand Tours, finishing in the top five across all three major events. His most memorable moment came during the 2016 Giro d'Italia, where he was on the verge of victory but unfortunately lost his lead after crashing into a snow bank on the penultimate mountain stage.

In 2019, he reached a significant milestone by securing third place overall in the Tour de France, finishing just one minute and thirty-one seconds behind the overall winner, Egan Bernal.
