Steven Nzonzi

Steven Nzonzi, born on December fifteenth, nineteen eighty-eight, is a distinguished French professional footballer renowned for his role as a defensive midfielder. Currently, he plays for EFL Championship club Stoke City, marking a significant chapter in his career as he returns to the club where he previously made a name for himself.

Nzonzi's football journey began with Ligue 2 side Amiens, where his talent quickly caught the attention of scouts. In two thousand nine, he made a pivotal move to Premier League side Blackburn Rovers for a transfer fee of six hundred fifty thousand pounds. His tenure at Ewood Park lasted three years, culminating in the club's relegation at the end of the two thousand eleven to two thousand twelve season.

Despite the setback, Nzonzi continued to shine in the Premier League, joining Stoke City for a fee of three million pounds. Under the management of Tony Pulis and later Mark Hughes, he became an integral part of the squad, earning the club's Player of the Year award for his outstanding performances during the two thousand fourteen to two thousand fifteen season.

In July two thousand fifteen, Nzonzi took his talents to Spain, signing with Sevilla for seven million pounds. His first season with the club was remarkable, as he played a key role in their UEFA Europa League triumph. On the international stage, Nzonzi represented France at the under-21 level and made headlines when he turned down the opportunity to play for his ancestral DR Congo. After an unsuccessful attempt to gain eligibility for England, he made his senior debut for France in November two thousand seventeen. Notably, he was part of the squad that celebrated victory at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
