Kirk Jones, known to the world as Sticky Fingaz, was born on November 3, 1973. He is an American rapper, record producer, and actor who gained fame as a member of the multi-platinum hardcore rap group Onyx. His unique attributes, including a lazy eye and a raspy voice, combined with his dynamic energy, made him the standout frontman of the group, which was discovered by the legendary Jam Master Jay of Run-D.M.C.
Onyx achieved significant success, releasing three top-selling albums that solidified their place in the music industry. Following this success, Sticky Fingaz embarked on a solo career that showcased his versatility beyond music. He made his acting debut in 1993 with Forest Whitaker's acclaimed HBO drama Strapped, and has since appeared in over eighty films and television shows.
His filmography includes notable works such as Spike Lee's Clockers, In Too Deep, Lockdown, Doing Hard Time, and Breaking Point. However, he is perhaps best recognized for his role as Tyrone in Next Friday. On television, he made his mark in series like New York Undercover and Nash Bridges, but his portrayal of Blade in the television series Blade remains one of his most iconic roles. In 2022, he returned to the screen with a recurring role in the Showtime comedy series Flatbush Misdemeanors.
In addition to his acting and music career, Sticky Fingaz has made significant contributions to film as a writer, producer, and director. He created two feature films in the hip hopera genre through his production company, Major Independents: A Day in the Life and Caught On Tape, both released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment. In two thousand nineteen, he introduced It's About T.I.M.E., a project he describes as a Digital Album Movie.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Sticky Fingaz has taken on leadership roles, including being unanimously voted as President of the Hunger Aid Foundation in August two thousand twenty.
