Stoffel Vandoorne

Stoffel Vandoorne, born on March twenty-six, nineteen ninety-two, in Roeselare, Belgium, is a distinguished racing automobile driver known for his remarkable achievements in both Formula One and Formula E. He began his motorsport journey at the tender age of six, diving into karting, and despite facing financial challenges, he quickly made a name for himself in national and international competitions.

Vandoorne's ascent through the ranks of motorsport saw him clinch his first championship in the 2010 F4 Eurocup with the FFSA Academy. His talent shone brightly as he progressed to Formula Renault, where he won the Eurocup in two thousand twelve and finished as the runner-up in the three point five series in two thousand thirteen. His transition to the GP2 Series in two thousand fourteen marked a significant milestone, where he finished as the runner-up in his rookie season before dominating the following year with a record-breaking championship win.

In two thousand sixteen, Vandoorne made his Formula One debut with McLaren, stepping in for the injured Fernando Alonso at the Bahrain Grand Prix. He quickly showcased his skills by outqualifying teammate Jenson Button and securing his first points finish. Over the next two seasons, he partnered with Alonso, achieving several points finishes before parting ways with McLaren at the end of two thousand eighteen. Since then, he has served as a reserve driver for various teams, including McLaren, Mercedes, Racing Point, and Aston Martin.

Transitioning to Formula E in the two thousand eighteen-nineteen season, Vandoorne faced challenges with the Venturi powertrains but still managed to secure his first pole position at the Hong Kong ePrix. He later joined the newly-formed Mercedes team, where he finished as the runner-up in the two thousand nineteen-twenty season after claiming his first victory at the Berlin ePrix. In two thousand twenty-one, he entered sportscar racing, finishing as the runner-up in the LMP2 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Vandoorne's prowess in Formula E culminated in a championship win in the two thousand twenty-one-twenty-two season, where he achieved eight podium finishes, including a victory at the Monaco ePrix. He subsequently joined DS Penske for the two thousand twenty-two-twenty-three season but was unable to defend his title, leading to his move to Maserati. In two thousand twenty-three, he joined the Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar project, marking his debut in the premier class of the World Endurance Championship at the six hours of Fuji.
