Sue Myrick

Sue Myrick, born on August first, nineteen forty-one, is a distinguished American politician and businesswoman who made her mark as the U.S. Representative for North Carolina's ninth congressional district. Her tenure in Congress spanned from nineteen ninety-five to twenty-thirteen, during which she became a prominent figure in the Republican Party.

As the first Republican woman to represent North Carolina in Congress, Myrick broke new ground for women in politics. Her leadership and dedication to her constituents were evident throughout her years of service, culminating in her announcement of retirement on February seventh, twenty-twelve. She officially left Congress in January twenty-thirteen, passing the torch to her successor, Robert Pittenger.
