Sujit Choudhry

Sujit Choudhry, born in 1970, is a distinguished lawyer, legal scholar, and expert in comparative constitutional law. His academic journey has seen him serve on the faculty at prestigious institutions such as the University of Toronto and New York University School of Law.

Choudhry's career reached a significant milestone when he was appointed as the dean of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. His leadership in this role was marked by a commitment to advancing legal education and scholarship.

However, his tenure as dean came to an abrupt end in 2016 following allegations of sexual harassment made against him by an executive assistant. Choudhry has consistently denied these allegations, and although he paid a settlement of one hundred thousand dollars, he has retained his position on the faculty, continuing to contribute to the field of law.
