Sukjong of Joseon

Sukjong of Joseon, born Yi Sun on August fifteenth, sixteen sixty-one, ascended to the throne as the 19th monarch of the Joseon dynasty. His reign, which lasted until July twelfth, seventeen twenty, was marked by significant political maneuvering and legislative skill.

Throughout his time as king, Sukjong adeptly navigated the complex landscape of Korean politics, shifting allegiances among various factions, including the Namin (Southerners), Seoin (Westerners), Soron, and Noron.
