Sunay Erdem

Sunay Erdem, born on March seventeenth, nineteen seventy-one, is a distinguished Turkish landscape architect and a self-taught architect. In nineteen ninety-eight, he co-founded Erdem Architects with his brother, Günay Erdem, establishing a firm that has since made significant contributions to urban design across the globe.

With a remarkable portfolio that spans over forty countries, Erdem has become known for his innovative approach to architecture. Since nineteen ninety-two, he has embraced the free-hand sketching method, amassing more than seven hundred free-hand perspectives that showcase his artistic vision and technical skill.

His talent was recognized in two thousand thirteen when he won first prize in the Sketch Showdown Competition, Mixed Media, organized by the Philadelphia Center for Architecture. Additionally, he received the Turkish National Architecture Award in the Presentation of Ideas category in two thousand ten, further solidifying his reputation in the field.

Erdem's accolades also include multiple Turkish National Landscape Architecture Awards, which he won in two thousand nine, two thousand ten, and two thousand thirteen, awarded by the Chamber of Landscape Architects in Turkey. Among his notable projects is the wall project for the US-Mexico border, which highlights his commitment to impactful design.
