Susan Brooks

Susan Brooks, born on August 25, 1960, is a distinguished American politician and lawyer known for her impactful career in public service. A member of the Republican Party, she served as the U.S. Representative for Indiana's 5th congressional district from 2012 until her decision not to seek reelection in 2020. Her district encompassed the northern fifth of Indianapolis and several affluent suburbs, reflecting her commitment to representing diverse communities.

Before her tenure in Congress, Brooks made significant contributions as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana from two thousand one to two thousand seven. Her legal expertise and dedication to justice laid a strong foundation for her political career, where she became a prominent figure in Indiana politics.

In the political arena, Brooks was a candidate to succeed Mike Pence in the 2016 Indiana gubernatorial election after Pence withdrew to join Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
