Susana Baca

Susana Baca, born on May twenty-fourth, nineteen forty-four, is a celebrated Peruvian singer-songwriter and ethnomusicologist renowned for her contributions to the revival of Afro-Peruvian music. In July two thousand eleven, she was appointed as Peru's Minister of Culture under the government of Ollanta Humala, marking a historic moment as she became the second Afro-Peruvian cabinet minister in the nation's history.
