Svetlana Kuznetsova

Svetlana Kuznetsova, born on June twenty-seventh, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished former professional tennis player from Russia. Throughout her illustrious career, she achieved remarkable heights, reaching a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 and No. 3 in doubles, as recognized by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

Kuznetsova's journey in professional tennis began in two thousand one when she first participated in a WTA Tour event. Her breakthrough moment came in two thousand four when she claimed her first major title at the US Open, defeating fellow Russian Elena Dementieva. This victory marked her as the third Russian woman to win a Grand Slam title.

In two thousand nine, Kuznetsova added a second major singles title to her accolades by triumphing at the French Open, overcoming compatriot Dinara Safina in the final. She also reached the finals of the French Open in two thousand six and the US Open in two thousand seven, both times finishing as the runner-up to Justine Henin.
