Sydney Valpy Radley-Walters

Sydney Valpy Radley-Walters, affectionately known as "Rad," was born on January 11, 1920, and left an indelible mark on military history as a distinguished tank commander in the Canadian Army. His remarkable career spanned the tumultuous years of the Second World War, during which he emerged as a leading figure among the Western Allies' tank aces.

Throughout his service, Radley-Walters was credited with the destruction of eighteen German tanks, alongside numerous other armored vehicles. His exceptional skills and bravery on the battlefield earned him several prestigious honors, including the Canadian Forces' Decoration, the Distinguished Service Order, and the Military Cross.
