Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Sylvi Listhaug

Sylvi Listhaug, born on December twenty-fifth, nineteen seventy-seven, is a prominent Norwegian politician and public relations executive. She has been leading the Progress Party since two thousand twenty-one and has held the position of Leader of the Opposition since two thousand twenty-five. Her political journey has been marked by significant cabinet roles under Prime Minister Erna Solberg, where she made impactful contributions to various sectors.

Listhaug's tenure as Norway's first Minister of Immigration and Integration from two thousand fifteen to two thousand eighteen was particularly notable. This specially created position arose during the European migrant crisis, and under her leadership, the number of asylum seekers arriving in Norway dramatically decreased from thirty thousand in two thousand fifteen to just two thousand in two thousand seventeen. Additionally, she served as Minister of Agriculture and Food from two thousand thirteen to two thousand fifteen, and briefly held the roles of Minister of Justice, Public Security and Immigration, and Minister of the Elderly and Public Health and Minister of Petroleum and Energy.

Originally hailing from the rural Ørskog Municipality in Sunnmøre, Listhaug began her political career in Oslo, where she served as City Commissioner of Welfare and Social Services. Her commitment to public service continues as she currently represents her constituents as a member of the Storting and actively participates in the Standing Committee on Health and Care Services.
