Syrus Marcus Ware, born on May twelfth, nineteen seventy-seven, is a prominent Canadian visual artist, curator, and activist based in Toronto, Ontario. He serves as an assistant professor in the School of the Arts at McMaster University, where he shares his expertise and passion for art with students.

Since two thousand fourteen, Ware has been a faculty member and designer at the Banff Centre, contributing to the development of artistic programs and initiatives. His commitment to community engagement is evident in his role as the inaugural artist-in-residence at the Daniels Spectrum cultural centre in Toronto, where he fosters creativity and cultural dialogue.

A founding member of Black Lives Matter Toronto, Ware has dedicated his efforts to social justice and activism. He previously coordinated the Art Gallery of Ontario's youth program for thirteen years, during which he oversaw the creation of the Free After Three program and significantly expanded the youth program's reach and impact.
