Szabolcs Huszti, born on April 18, 1983, is a distinguished Hungarian football coach and former professional player. Currently, he serves as the de facto manager of Fehérvár, despite Gábor Toldi holding the official title. Renowned for his exceptional dribbling, pace, passing, and goal-scoring prowess from midfield, Huszti has made a significant impact in the world of football.
Huszti began his professional journey at Ferencváros, a prominent Hungarian club, before moving to Metz for a brief period. In 2006, he made a notable transfer to Bundesliga club Hannover 96 for two hundred and ten thousand pounds, where he quickly made his mark by scoring six goals in his debut season, including a memorable strike in a stunning 1–0 victory against Bayern Munich.
In 2009, he transitioned to Zenit Saint Petersburg, stepping in to fill the void left by Arsenal-bound Andrey Arshavin. After several stints in Germany and China, Huszti returned to Hungary, concluding his playing career with Fehérvár in 2020.
Huszti's international career with the Hungary national team began during his loan at Sopron, leading to his senior debut in April 2004. However, his journey was not without challenges; he faced suspension in 2007 after leaving a training camp prior to two UEFA Euro 2008 qualifiers. Nevertheless, he made a comeback in 2008, participating in a 1–1 draw against Slovakia, before ultimately retiring from international football in 2010 to concentrate on his club career, citing a desire to distance himself from the national team's atmosphere.
