Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., known to the world as T.I. or Tip, was born on September 25, 1980, in Atlanta, Georgia. He is celebrated not only as a rapper but also as a songwriter, music executive, actor, and record producer. T.I. is widely recognized as a pioneer of trap music, a subgenre of hip-hop that has significantly influenced the music landscape, alongside fellow Atlanta artists Jeezy and Gucci Mane.
His journey in the music industry began in the late 1990s when he connected with music executive Kawan 'KP' Prather and joined Ghet-O-Vision Entertainment. After a lukewarm reception to his debut album, I'm Serious, in 2001, T.I. transitioned to Atlantic Records, where he achieved mainstream success. His second album, Trap Muzik, released in 2003, marked a turning point, featuring hit singles like 'Rubber Band Man' and 'Let's Get Away.'
Over the years, T.I. continued to dominate the charts with subsequent albums, including King and T.I. vs. T.I.P., both of which produced Billboard Hot 100 hits. His sixth album, Paper Trail, released in 2008, solidified his status with two number-one singles, 'Whatever You Like' and 'Live Your Life,' making him the first rapper to hold the top two positions on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.
Despite facing challenges, including an eleven-month incarceration, T.I. rebounded with albums like Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head and Paperwork. He has collaborated with numerous artists and has been a significant figure in the hip-hop community, launching the careers of talents like Travis Scott and Iggy Azalea through his Grand Hustle Records. In addition to his music career, T.I. has made a name for himself in acting, appearing in films such as ATL and Ant-Man, and has authored two novels.
