Tabia Charles

Tabia Charles, born on April 6, 1985, is a distinguished Canadian long jumper known for her remarkable achievements in athletics. She made her mark on the international stage by finishing tenth in the final round at the 2008 Olympic Games, showcasing her talent and determination.

Her personal best jump of 6.82 metres, achieved in June 2008 in Chania, stands as the current Canadian record. In addition to her long jump success, Tabia has also excelled in the triple jump, with a personal best of 14.02 metres recorded in March 2007 in South Bend, and an outdoor best of 13.94 metres achieved in April 2006 in Philadelphia.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the sport, Tabia Charles-Collins was honored by The University of Miami, which announced her induction into the Sports Hall of Fame on October 4, 2018. This prestigious accolade was part of the university's 51st Annual ceremony, with the Class of 2019 ceremony scheduled for April 2019.
