Takashi Amano

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Takashi Amano

Takashi Amano, born on July eighteenth, nineteen fifty-four, was a multifaceted Japanese professional known for his contributions as a photographer, naturalist, and keirin cyclist. His passion for nature and aquatic life led him to become a prominent figure in the world of aquascaping.

Amano founded Aqua Design Amano (ADA), a pioneering company specializing in the design and production of aquariums. His innovative approach to aquarium design transformed the hobby, making it accessible and aesthetically pleasing for enthusiasts around the globe.

He authored the influential three-book series, Nature Aquarium World, published by TFH Publications in nineteen ninety-four, which delved into aquascaping, freshwater aquarium plants, and fish. Additionally, he released Aquarium Plant Paradise in nineteen ninety-seven, further solidifying his expertise in the field.

One of his notable contributions to aquatic life is the discovery of the Amano shrimp, or Yamato shrimp, scientifically known as Caridina multidentata. This species, recognized for its remarkable ability to consume algae, has become a staple in freshwater planted aquariums, thanks to Amano's efforts in promoting its use.

Throughout his career, Amano also developed a range of aquarium products under the ADA brand and shared his knowledge through his column, 'Nature Aquarium,' featured in Practical Fishkeeping and Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazines. Sadly, he passed away from pneumonia in two thousand fifteen at the age of sixty-one.
