Takashi Tezuka

Takashi Tezuka, born on November 17, 1960, is a prominent figure in the world of video game design and production. Known affectionately as Ten Ten, he has been a pivotal force at Nintendo since 1984, where he has directed, produced, and supervised the development of numerous iconic games. Currently, he serves as an executive officer on the board of directors and holds a senior position in the Entertainment Planning & Development division.

Tezuka's collaboration with legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto began with the groundbreaking platformer Super Mario Bros. in 1985, a title that not only launched the beloved Super Mario series but also played a crucial role in revitalizing the North American gaming industry following the recession of 1983. His contributions continued with The Legend of Zelda in 1986, marking the inception of another monumental franchise.

Throughout his career, Tezuka has been instrumental in the creation of several beloved characters and titles. He co-designed Yoshi while directing Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World, and later directed acclaimed games such as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Yoshi's Island. His last hands-on design credit was for Super Mario 64 in 1996, a game that set new standards in 3D gaming.

In recent years, Tezuka has transitioned into managerial roles, overseeing the development of critically acclaimed titles like Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
