Tamar Mardirossian, known professionally as Tamar Kaprelian, is an American-Armenian singer, songwriter, and philanthropist born on October 28, 1986. She embarked on her musical journey in 2008 after winning a cover contest organized by the popular band OneRepublic, where she performed the hit song 'Apologize'. This victory led to a significant opportunity when Ryan Tedder introduced her to executives at Interscope Records, resulting in her signing with the label.

In 2010, Kaprelian released her debut studio album, 'Sinner or a Saint', through Interscope, marking a pivotal moment in her career. Her passion for music and her Armenian heritage culminated in her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, where she represented Armenia as part of the group Genealogy with the song 'Face the Shadow', achieving a respectable sixteenth place.

Kaprelian's ambition did not stop there; she sought to represent Armenia again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 as a solo artist. Competing in the national selection, Depi Evratesil 2018, she performed the song 'Poison (Ari Ari)', but was unfortunately eliminated in the semi-final round.
