Tamás Faragó

Tamás Faragó, born on August fifth, nineteen fifty-two, is a distinguished former Hungarian water polo player whose career spanned from the early nineteen seventies to the end of the nineteen eighties. He made his mark in all major international tournaments during this period, showcasing his exceptional skills and determination.

Faragó's remarkable achievements include winning three medals at the Summer Olympics and five at both the world and European championships. Notably, he was the top goalscorer at the nineteen seventy-six Olympics, netting an impressive twenty-two goals, a testament to his prowess in the sport.

After retiring from competitive play, he transitioned into coaching, where he continued to influence the sport by guiding Hungary's junior and women's national teams. His dedication to water polo was recognized in nineteen ninety-three when he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame, and in two thousand five, he earned the title of Hungarian coach of the year.
