Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Tammi Terrell

Born on April 29, 1945, Thomasina Winifred Montgomery, known professionally as Tammi Terrell, emerged as a prominent figure in the music industry during the 1960s. As a talented singer-songwriter, she became a star at Motown Records, captivating audiences with her powerful voice and emotive performances. Her collaborations with Marvin Gaye produced a string of hits that remain timeless classics.

Terrell's musical journey began in her teenage years when she recorded for Scepter/Wand Records. She later joined James Brown's Revue, where she honed her craft and recorded for Brown's Try Me label. After a brief stint at Checker Records, she signed with Motown in 1965, where her career truly flourished.

With Gaye, Terrell achieved remarkable success, scoring seven Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Among these were iconic tracks such as 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough,' which earned a place in the Grammy Hall of Fame in nineteen ninety-nine, as well as 'Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing' and 'You're All I Need to Get By.'

Tragically, Terrell's promising career was cut short when she collapsed during a performance on October 14, 1967. Following her diagnosis of a brain tumor, she underwent eight surgeries, but sadly, she passed away on March 16, 1970, at the young age of twenty-four. Her legacy continues to inspire generations of artists and music lovers alike.
