Tanella Boni

Tanella Boni, born in 1954, is a distinguished Ivorian poet and novelist whose literary contributions have significantly enriched the cultural landscape of Côte d'Ivoire. As a professor of philosophy at the University of Abidjan, she combines her passion for literature with academic rigor, inspiring countless students and readers alike.

Her leadership in the literary community is noteworthy; she served as the President of the association of writers of Côte d'Ivoire from 1991 to 1997. During her tenure, she championed the voices of Ivorian writers and fostered a vibrant literary culture.

In addition to her role in academia and literary advocacy, Boni was instrumental in organizing the International Poetry Festival in Abidjan from 1998 to 2002. This event brought together poets from around the world, celebrating the art of poetry and promoting cultural exchange.
