Tarabai

Tarabai, born on April fourteenth, sixteen seventy-five, was a formidable politician and the regent of the Maratha Empire from seventeen hundred until seventeen oh eight. As the queen of Rajaram I and the daughter-in-law of the empire's founder, Shivaji I, she played a pivotal role in the history of the Maratha Kingdom.

During her regency, Tarabai was instrumental in maintaining the resistance against Mughal rule in the Konkan region. Her leadership came at a critical time when her son, Shivaji II, was still a minor, and she took on the mantle of governance with remarkable strength and determination.

Tarabai's military acumen was evident as she successfully defeated the Mughal forces led by Aurangzeb in several significant battles. Her strategic prowess not only safeguarded the Maratha Kingdom but also contributed to its expansion during a tumultuous period.
