Taras Kompanichenko

Taras Kompanichenko, born on November fourteenth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a distinguished Ukrainian musician and composer, celebrated for his mastery as a lutenist and folk musician. His artistic journey began in the realm of painting and art history, but he ultimately chose to dedicate his life to music, becoming a prominent figure in the Ukrainian cultural landscape.

As an active member of the Kobzarskyi Tsekh, Kompanichenko has contributed significantly to the preservation and promotion of traditional Ukrainian music. He is also a vital part of the Early Music ensembles 'Chorea Kozacka' and 'Sarmatica', showcasing his versatility and commitment to both historical and contemporary musical expressions.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Kompanichenko is known for his passionate involvement in social movements, having participated in the Orange Revolution and Euromaidan, which were pivotal moments in Ukraine's history. His contributions to the arts and society have earned him the title of Merited Artist of Ukraine and the prestigious Vasyl Stus Prize.

In response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Kompanichenko demonstrated his dedication to his country by joining the 241st Territorial Defense Brigade, embodying the spirit of resilience and patriotism that defines his life and work.
